Finally back from my first con!

Just from my initial reaction and looking back on it now I was slightly disappointed. Not because it was bad, but because of the raised expectation you get from all the hype that goes on with things like this. All in all I had a ton of fun.

The hotel room we had was decent for 130 something bucks. The room had Cartoon Network and 2 HBO channels so I was happy. There was the typical funky hotel room smell but it wasn't bad. I had to fix the toilet on numerous occasions though, that was the only real downside. It was also a mile and a half away from the actual convention, but the exercise was nice.

First day of the convention we went to a few panels and figured out where everything was. I got some pictures with Storm Troopers and wore one of their helmets just for good measure. John and I both entered the Zombie Brain Eating contest, but only John got drawn to compete. I was a sad zombie, but at least I got to cheer the rest on and screw them up by making them laugh.

Saturday John dressed up as Nurse Joker for the con. John, Jordan and Tierney had different interests than my own so for a good portion of the morning I was off on my own; chasing women commenced. There were a lot of great people to talk to!
Just to screw with people I wore my silk tai chi robes and a demon headband. Nobody could figure out who I was but a lot of people enjoyed it. I even ran across a few other people in chinese dress as well!

I wish they'd have posted a full weekend's schedule instead of just the daily event sheet each morning. There was an Ouran High School Host Club hosting event but you had to have tickets to attend it. I really wished I could have went, but I didn't know about it until it was too late. The tea and cookies looked so good <3
On another note, I could have SWORE I saw my College friend Maia but didn't get a chance to catch up with her.

My friend Rey called me and sent me on a mission to find her some doujins on Sunday. She's one of my bestest friends so I'd do anything for her. So while the others were at a panel I shamelessly went hunting through the vender areas. I even went into the strictly Yaoi booths and had some interesting conversations with the people in there. Everyone loves a big gay guy with long hair apparently, because a LOT of people started talking to me after that. It was fairly embarrassing but I took it like a man. Unfortunately, even after turning the place upside down, there were no doujins that'd interest Rey.

Too tired right now still, can't brain properly, so here's a part of my personal scavanger hunt list. Everything on the list I saw, the rest I left off, some of it was nearly impossible.
